As part of Science Week 2023, the National University of Tierra del Fuego (AeIAS) presented the prototype "AiMe Service Robotics: Transforming Customer Service and Environmental Management."

This initiative, funded by the Federal Council of Science and Technology (COFECyT), was developed by a team of professors, researchers, and students from the Institute for Economic Development and Innovation (IDEI), together with the company Reciclados RAEE, part of the INDETEC Group. Through this initiative, they were able to create an automated robot capable of assisting users in the commerce, hospitality, and tourism sectors. AiMe is capable of waiting tables and carrying luggage through intelligent control of temperature, light, and humidity sensors, responding to the challenges of the current era.

The idea was born during the pandemic to reduce close human contact in commercial activities carried out in the tourism sector, especially in a city like Ushuaia, which has a high turnover of visitors year-round. During the launch, the Tierra del Fuego robot was described as a cloud-based software system that would "revolutionize customer service and management in retail, hospitality, and tourism."

Users will be able to connect, configure, and control service robots, IoT devices, and more. This will offer a solution with its own navigation scheme that allows robots to navigate precisely, recharge, and provide the requested service. The audience was able to see how the service robot works for transporting luggage. Load simulation and the user interface were also demonstrated.

"Our team, comprised of members from UNTDF and Grupo Indetec SRL, has experienced national technological development in a constantly evolving global market," said Ezequiel Moyano, professor and researcher (IDEI/UNTDF), in his role as director of the Aime Project.

He also stated that "AiMe Cloud offers subscription services and customized solutions for device automation and control. We want to contribute to this revolution in customer service and environmental management with the system. This way, we are transforming the way we interact in the commercial and tourism worlds, while improving efficiency in device management. The future of automation and IoT is here, and it's called AiMe," the young researcher stated.
